Does anybody know what the normal opperating idle speed shouldbe on a 1988 mk1?
Mine idles at about 1250 rpms is that normal? If not how do I adjust it down?

Normal idle should be around 800rpm. At cold temps MKI's often idle at around 2000rpm for several minutes before settling down to 800. Refer to BouncingIdle.
