Engine Cleaning

Only perform this when your engine is cool.

  1. Cover up the spark plug valley, the coil, and the distributor with towels or rags, or encase them in Ziplocks. This reduces the risk of water contamination. If you do get water in the spark plug valley, then make sure you clean it out.
  2. Liberally spray a solution of Simple Green all over the engine bay.
  3. Use a damp cloth to wipe everything down.
  4. Lightly hose the engine bay down with water. Do not use a high pressure hose – your only rinsing the Simple Green off.
  5. Use a damp cloth to wipe everything down.
