Steering Wheel
All models of MKI steering wheel are interchangable. An 1989 steering wheel will fit on a 1985. Check out Replacing Steering Wheel for more information. The late-model wheel has three spokes and is slightly smaller diameter. This may be useful for taller AW11 drivers.
Hubs
Hubs are what connect the wheel to the steering column. You can get Wheel Install Kits, which usually include a hub for around $20. Details on Grant hub 3584 from Jegs.com:

Squeaking
Frequently occurs in cold weather, the squeaky steering wheel can be almost as annoying as the SeatbeltBuzzer. Easy to fix:
- Undo the plastic around the base of the wheel. There’s a spring-loaded electrical contact that touches against a metal ring at the base of the wheel. Spray some silicon lubricant (or dielectric grease – $1 from the auto-store) around the contact and along the ring. If you use all-purpose grease you may block electrical contact, and your horn may stop working.
- Alternatively, undo the plastic piece underneath the steering column by removing 6 screws. Using a dab of the die-electric grease on the end of a small flat screwdriver, spread some along the slip ring track in several places and rotate the wheel lock-to-lock several times. Should take around 20 minutes.
