Stock Wheels

Lug nut pattern is 5*114.3 mm; strange size, because it’s a Ford bolt pattern (5x4.5") converted to metric.

1991-92

Wheels: 14x6" front and 14x7" rear with a 45mm offset. Tires: 195/60 front and 205/60 rear; V rated on Turbo models and H rated on non-turbo models.

1993+

Wheels: 15x6" front and 15x7" rear with a 45mm offset. Tires: 195/55 front and 225/50 rear.

Aftermarket Wheels

Owners often upgrade to 16" or 17" wheels, generally 16x7" or 17x7" front and 16x8" or 17x8" rear. Tires for the front typically dont get any larger than 225 because of tire rubbing issues. Fender flares and lower offsets will allow the use of larger wheels and tires, but clearance with suspenion components then becomes an issue. Rear tires can get as large as 255 if the fender lip is rolled. Common tire combinations on 16" wheels are 205/45 or 215/45 front and 225/45 or 245/45 rear. Common tire combinations on 17" wheels are 215/40 front and 235/40 rear. The rear tires will be slightly taller than the stock 14" or 15" wheel/tire combination, so the speedometer will read slightly low.

Many 91/92 owners upgrade to the 93 spec wheels and often choose 205/50 front and 225/50 rear tires. This combination offers a good compromise between handling, cornering grip, and comfort over bumpy roads.

For 1993, the lug nuts front and rear were lengthened slightly- between five and ten millimeters.
