The MKIII wheels have pins on the back, near the lug holes. The pin fits in a hole on the spyder hub to ensure that the thiner front wheels are not mixed with the wider back wheels. This pin can be removed if you want to put the wheels on a different car (on the MKI for instance) – use pliers or vice grips to unscrew the pin.
