My First MKI was a 1986 sunroof car. Picked it up in Tampa in 2003. It had a cracked piston and the motor rattled pretty well. I swapped the motor for one that had been lightly modified. I upgraded the suspension with H&T bushings and KYB struts. Swapped interior for 1988 parts, swapped tail lights for 1988 units. Car was sold to Adian Pride.
Second MKI was a 88SC. Car was a non driver, owner had parked it for an extended time after wrecking the front end. Turned out that the trunk floor was extremely rusted out so I decided to strip the car and use many parts to convert a good NA chassis to SC. The car only had 66000 miles on it when I purchased it so the drivetrain was in good shape. Car was stripped and body scrapped
Third MKI was a non-running 1986 hardtop. Bought for parts. Car was stripped and body scrapped.
Fourth MKI was 88 sunroof car. Bought to swap in SC drivetrain. Refreshed motor while it was out. Ended up using C52 trans(ease of installation) Car received many mods while I owned it: Illegal Garage 200mm copper/kevlar clutch–180mm NST crank pulley–Gruntbox–Spal fan for IC–MKII turbo seats–H&T full urethane suspension bushings–H&T master cylider brace–Eibach sportline springs–Tokico struts–H&T rear swaybar/endlinks/retro tabs–Buddy Club replica front air dam–1989 LED rear wing–MKIII spyder wheels followed by 16" SSW wheels. Car was sold to curvesrgood.
I recently purchased a 1991 JDM MKII turbo. Its a hardtop car, all options with split leather seats. I plan on lightly modding this car–MBC/FCD/downpipe/exhaust/IC upgrade.
